Ayurveda, from the Sanskrit words āyus (life) and veda (knowledge), is one of the world’s oldest holistic healing traditions. Rooted in ancient Hinduism and linked to the Atharvaveda, it is often described as “the knowledge of life.”
According to Hindu belief, Ayurveda was first revealed by the creator god Brahmā and passed down to the great sages (ṛṣis). These sages, through deep meditation and observation of nature, preserved and systematized this wisdom so it could guide humanity.
At its core, Ayurveda teaches that health depends on harmony within the three doṣas — vāta, pitta, and kapha. When these forces are balanced, there is well-being; when disturbed, imbalance and illness arise.
Through natural remedies, diet, lifestyle practices, yoga, meditation, and cleansing therapies, Ayurveda provides a complete system of care. More than medicine, it is a sacred way of life, uniting body, mind, and spirit with the rhythms of nature
